Darwin Shunk

Went home to be with his Savior on August 25, 2010 after a brief fight with cancer. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on June 9, 1952 to Max and Mary Shunk. Darwin was employed by the State of Michigan. He was an avid lover of the performing arts, especially music, with sound engineering his passion. He was an active member of Mount Hope Church in Lansing and was involved with music and media ministry for many years.

Preceded in death by his mother Mary Shunk, Darwin is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Wanda; children Jennifer (Eric) Vorm, Jonathan Shunk, Bethany (David) Gerstner; grandchildren Morgan, Isabelle, and Joshua; father Max (Darlene) Shunk; sisters Debbie Gillam, Teri Frasier; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:00-2:00 p.m at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Avenue in Lansing. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Hope Church Garden Prayer Chapel, 202 S. Creyts Road in Lansing. Contributions may be made to Mt. Hope Church’s Anna’s House for Widows.
