Age 85, died September 24, 2018. Born May 14, 1933 in Douglas, MI. The fourth of five sons to Leonard and Dora Sweet, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard (Jack), William, Gordon, Don and his first wife Grace McNaughton Sweet (1977). Mr. Sweet grew up and lived most of his life in the Lansing area where he graduated in 1951 from Holt High School. After graduating from Lansing Business University (Davenport) he was employed with Consumers Power Company for 35 years. In 2005 he moved to Jackson, MI. He was an active volunteer for the Physically Impaired Association of Michigan and many other organizations.
Surviving are his second wife Pat, whom he married in 1982; daughter, Kathryn (Shaun) of Surprise, AZ; sons, Robert (Cindy) of Lansing, MI, David (Yasmin) of Washington, MI; stepdaughter, Sylvia Whitney of Holt, MI; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Arbor Grove Congregational Church, 2621 McCain Rd., Jackson, MI 49203. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
