Connie M. Smith, 63, of Lansing, Michigan passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on January 12, 2014. Connie was born December 23, 1950 to Raymond and Jewell (Vanderhoef) Cook in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Connie graduated from Eastern High School and resided in Lansing for most for her life. She enjoyed crafts and was an excellent seamstress. She loved her family and spending time with them. She devoted her life to loving her children and grandchildren.

Surviving to cherish her memory are daughters: Kelly (Jason) Ahti, Kyle (Garrett) Clark, and Kathryn (Michael Morton) Smith; former husband and close friend, Denis Smith; grandchildren: Benjamin and Claire Ahti, Mari and Miles Clark, and Addyson Morton; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond and Jewell Cook; sisters, Sherry (Don) Page and Darlene Knight; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, Michigan 48912. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Lansing Chapel. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Ele’s Place, Grand Rapids Location, 2000 Michigan St. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
