Charlene "Char" Rice

Char's passions included knitting, spending time with her loving husband, traveling and exploring what life had to offer.

She was a nurse at St. Lawrence Hospital, working in the infant ward and ended her career working in nursing homes.

Charlene is survived by her husband, Harry; children, Kim (Christopher), Tracey (Jessica, Briattney), Robin (Jacob, Jon), and Kelly (Sophia, Hunter, Austin); three stepchildren, Cindy, Scott (Kevin), and Sheryl (Clinton); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Dennis Murphy; her son, Lawrence "Larry" Murphy; eight siblings; and both of her parents.

A Homegoing Service of The Word will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM, with a one-hour prior visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Hope Lutheran Church, 1180 W Herbison Rd., DeWitt, MI 48820. Following the service, a graveside service will occur at Delta Center Cemetery, W St. Joseph Hwy., Lansing, MI 48917.

Charlene was a Valentine's baby. Her request was a white casket with pink and Cher's favorite pink roses. May you rest in peace, my Queen!
