Amy Jo Parker

Amy was a kind and loving person. She was a beautiful person both inside and out. she was so caring and thoughtful of everyone who crossed her path. She genuinely loved and accepted everyone exactly the way they were. She brought a room to life with her amazing smile and the most beautiful blue eyes.

She was very proud of her work for the State of Michigan. She worked for nearly 20 years in adoption subsidy. Starting off as a temporary employee, she worked hard to become a permanent employee as a Medicaid Specialist and head of ICYMA.

She and her husband, Joe, had an unbreakable and intense love for one another. Although they had spent many years apart, fate brought them back together and ever since they have been inseparable. They were officially married on March 17, 2016. Amy and Joe have a strong relationship with God. She loved to spread His word and share her experiences with Him in hopes of bringing others closer to His heart.

She loved a lot of things including, Mickey Mouse, music, reading the Bible with her husband, and spending time with her grandkids. Most of all and above all else, she loved being surrounded by her family, especially her children. Amy and her kids all had a unique relationship and bond with her. She was deeply loved and will forever hold a spot in everyone’s heart that had the pleasure of knowing her.

Unfortunately she was taken from us far too soon. She will forever be missed and remembered for the amazing, giving, and selfless person she was. She put the world's needs before her own and was the type to take a bullet for a stranger if it meant saving someone.

Amy is survived by her beloved husband Joe; mother Sharon; three sisters Melissa, Marcie, and Julie; three sons Nicholas, Caden, and Riley; and three step-children Addiezon, Lucky, and Bella. She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Frederick Killingsworth.

A private service will be held for the family. There will be a public celebration of life for Amy on July 13th at Frances Park in Lansing, MI from 4-7p.m.
