Frank was a wonderful part of our family.  With his cheeky looks, infectious laugh, loving caring ways and always ready to listen or help.  He never said no.  If there was a way, he was there for you.  He was a Great, wonderful man.  I miss him so very much.  God bless the miracle of Frank.

I will always remember your smiling face Frank, you had a very bright attitude. You were very lucky to have a wife as good as Cathy, she loved and cared for you until the end.

For me it was love at first sight
Now all I see is 50 years together was not enough. I will love you forever. 

I remember dad as being a very social person that loved connecting with people and making friends.

He enjoyed meeting and helping others whether it was neighbours walking past as he was doing yard work, or cashiers at the store. He smiled, joked and spoke to everyone including strangers.

He also gave of himself. He was not a school educated man, but he was smart and could figure things out. If you had a plumbing, electrical or car problem and you asked him for help, he would be there. Dad wouldn't just do the work out of obligation, he would be there as a friend and a teacher so next time you may be able to do it yourself. I think that was fulfilling for him, knowing he didn't only help, but he taught.

My cousin Alex just recently posted on Facebook that Dad helped her one time with the brakes on her car, and how he taught her how to do it. The funny thing is before I read that, I had thought of a similar memory of when I was about 12 years old.

Dad was changing the brakes of his car and he asked if I wanted to come out and help him. We did one side together. He probably could have done it in less than half the time, but he had me do most of the hands-on work.  After we finished one side dad loosened the lug nuts on the other side and then asked me if I could do it on my own as he had "work" to do in his shop.

I did what I was shown and went to the shop to tell dad I was done. He asked if I put the tire back on the car and I replied I didn’t, so that he could look over what I did. Dad just said that he would come out once I put the tire on, and he could help tighten things up. I was so scared that I maybe messed something up, that we would take it for a test drive and things would go wrong.

But he showed trust in me and all was well.

That bit of teaching, and trust dad gave me is something that I always look back on. That part of dad is something that I strive to be in life, not only as a parent but in all aspects... Miss you dad....

Jorge and I have only known Frank and Cathy for four years.  When we moved into the complex they became our very first friends and were so welcoming.  I had a couple of issues that year and they were there.   Frank was always looking for something to do and certainly helped us with anything we had no idea of how to take care of.   Our granddaughter loved Frank and he was so good to her.  But the moments I remember so often are when Frank was not feeling so well and would have his eyes closed and when I brought him a "sweet" to eat - he would open those eyes and there was a sparkle and he knew he was going to like this. We will miss him but are thankful he doesn't have to suffer anymore.  Frank please know that we will always be there for Cathy.  Much love to the family.  Judy & Jorge xxoo



Our family suffered a tremendous loss this week after the passing of my Uncle Frank on Saturday afternoon.  This loss is devastating, and my heart feels very heavy with sadness. I can find some peace at knowing his pain and suffering is gone now, as he has had a long hard battle with declining health. 
Not only was I lucky enough to have him as my uncle, I was also blessed to have him as my Godparent. I have many fond memories as a kid with my uncle Frank including monster dancing in the woods, walking up to the corner store and getting penny candy then getting in trouble for playing with their intercom system, going on adventures up the bamboo lined path behind their house, and playing darts and air hockey in their basement. 

There was also the time I was studying at Kwantlen and my car broke down in Langley. It was super late as I had a concert that night and was on my way back from dropping my dad at the ferry. My mom was in Hawaii. I phoned Aunty Cathy and uncle Frank and without hesitation they came and rescued me, helped me get my car towed, drove me all the way back to Chilliwack, and the next day uncle Frank phoned around to a bunch of different mechanics to make sure he could get me the best price on repairs and got my car there for me. Uncle Frank was such a smart man and showed me how to change the break pads on my car, change the shocks and oil, and change a tire.  He also helped me pick out my first car, making sure I was getting something mechanically sound and for a fair price. 

And now as a mom, I got to watch as my girls bonded with uncle Frank the same way I did. He was so good with my girls and they got SO excited when ever we got to visit with Aunty Cathy and uncle Frank. As uncle Frank’s health declined this year, he went from running around or playing on the floor, to sitting on the couch and letting Isabella “fix” him with her doctor kit, or getting dressed up in her princess dress ups. He was always such a good sport about it. 

I will always remember Uncle Frank as a loving and caring man. He loved kids the most I think. I remember the one time he came to visit with Aunt Cathy to his Sister's (Aunt Mary) I took Rob and the kids to meet him. Now we all know he was missing part of his thumb. Well he made the kids believe he took it off and through it away. My youngest son came running in the house crying and yelling that we had to find Uncles thumb that he threw it away. My son then spent a good amount of time outside trying to find it. Uncle then told him that he really didn't throw it away and explained to him what happened. Love this man so much. I am going to miss him dearly. Love you Uncle Frank 

I have been struggling with my emotions and my mind as to how or even if I should, express the loss of a very dear brother-in-law, Frank. Frank was a wonderful person. He was kind, goofy, sweet, understanding, loveable, helpful and so much more. He was not very big in stature, but his heart was huge. He never said no to anyone in need. He adored his family and his extended family. Both Catherine and Frank welcomed me into the family without question. I was so very venerable at that time, but they made me feel like I belonged, and have ever since. Even though his health was failing him; I could still see that cheeky twinkle in his eyes. He is at peace now, but a part of my heart died with him. He is loved and dearly missed.
