On Thursday, January 9, 2020, Debbie Froese, wife, mother, daughter, aunt and sister, passed away at the age of 66 years after a valiant battle against cancer.
Debbie will be forever remembered by her husband and best friend Jack, and their precious children, Marilyn Morgan, Jason Froese (Amanda) and Jennifer Huttema (Ray); her grandchildren, Ethan, Brendan, Carson, Brody, Isaiah, Tyler, Jackson, Melodirose, Barrett and her parents Jack and Patricia Hougen; her sisters, Barbara Daenckaert and Beverly Harris. Debbie will also be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
Debbie was raised on a dairy farm in Abbotsford and attended Abbotsford Senior Secondary School. Debbie married Jack on October 6, 1973 and settled on Jack’s family farm in Mt. Lehman. In 1979 Jack and Debbie purchased their own farm in Langley. Debbie was the co-founder of J D Farms Specialty Turkey and was a vital part of the business, developing innovative recipes and always treating her customers and staff as her family.
Debbie loved volunteering for Aldergrove Soccer Club, Aldergrove Rotary, Langley Centennial Museum and many other causes to help families in Langley.
Debbie was especially proud of her role in founding and volunteering for the Thank You For Caring Society which hosts the “Thank You For Caring, A Christmas Tea” which raises money to assist families in need in Langley.
Debbie was a loving supporter of her husband, Jack, in his role as the Mayor of The Township of Langley. Debbie loved being a cheerleader for The Township and joined Jack in the many social and fundraising activities as a community builder.
A Celebration of Life will be held in memory of Debbie on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Christian Life Assembly, 21277 56 Avenue, Langley, BC.
