With profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Bonnie Hazel Jessiman (nee Scott) surrounded by family at the Clayton Community Care Home in Cloverdale, BC after a lengthy battle with dementia.
Bonnie was born to Robert and Dorothy Scott on November 2, 1944 in Vancouver, BC. She had two sisters, Betty Barber and Janie Sheane which she loved dearly. They grew up in Kitsilano where she met our father David Jessiman. They married in 1964, this year would have been their 60th anniversary. David and Bonnie raised their 3 children, Julie, Lori and Scott in Richmond, BC. They had many great friends and neighbours there and enjoyed lots of gatherings at their house of 20 plus years on Gilhurst Crescent.
Bonnie was a successful secretary downtown before dedicating her life to working alongside her husband David in the overhead door industry owning RichardsWilcox Door Systems.
Bonnie was an avid homemaker and gardener. She loved her family and putting on her regular Sunday family dinners. She especially loved Christmas time with her loved ones and decorating the house.
She was very proud of her children and adored her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sister Janie Sheane (nee Scott); children, Julie (Ric), Lori (Larry), and Scott (Michelle); her 7 grandchildren, Jessica, Marc, Erin, Kate, Rebecca, Layna and Kendall, and 2 great-grandchildren Owen and Ruby.
She is predeceased by another grandchild, Jacob. Bonnie died 8 weeks after her husband David’s passing. We are at peace knowing they are together now.
There will be a celebration of life in the coming months.
