He is survived by his loving wife, Lucena Lacson; children: Arlene Palma (son-in-law Jayzle Palma), Alexander Lacson (daughter-in-law Josie Lacson), Elvira Domingo & Aniceto Lacson; as well as his grandchildren: Gilson Palma, Mario Lacson, Reinhard Palma, Alison Palma Dowthwaite, Megan Palma, Alexander Lacson Junior, Alvin Lacson, Raymond Domingo, Robert Domingo, Rachelle Anne Juani, and Mark Lacson. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Lucita Palma and granddaughter Teresa Muncal.
Bayani was born on April 25th, 1931 in Imus, Cavite, Philippines to parents Ponciano Lacson and Catalina Bernardo. Bayani served two terms in the Philippine military, working both in direct combat and as a skilled radio operator.
In 1969, Bayani moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to settle and grow his family. Here, he worked many years as a head orderly at St.Norbert Nursing Home and continued many years as an orderly at St. Boniface Hospital till he retired. Bayani was a hard worker, an extremely generous individual, and beloved family member, helping many people settle in Canada after immigrating from the Philippines. He took pride in acting as an impromptu driving instructor for countless family and friends and found great joy in driving his grandchildren to and from school everyday. Bayani was held dear by so many as a father figure, uncle, friend, and grandfather.
An intimate memorial service is scheduled for October 19th, 2024 at Henderson’s Langley Funeral Home as well as a private burial on November 1st at Fort Langley Cemetery. The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words, thoughts, and prayers.
