Robert Barber

Robert Keith Barber, 66 of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, November 19th, 2023 at Mount Carmel East. Robert was born on May 13th, 1957 in Lancaster, Ohio to Samuel Barber and Frances Rosser. He worked for 40 years as a meat cutter and meat manager at Bay’s IGA in Lithopolis, Carfagna’s in Columbus, Al’s Super Thrift, and had retired from Carnival Foods in Lancaster. Robert enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, baking and watching Nascar, especially his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt. He also enjoyed collecting vinyl albums of his favorite artists.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl (Thomas) Barber; mother and step-father, Fran and Ted Beach; brothers, Steve (Beth) Barber and Greg Barber; sisters, Debby Barber, and Dianne (Art Sisco) Barber; brother-in-law, Mitch (Linda) Thomas, of Davenport, Iowa; nephews, Michael Arruda, Cody Barber, Lance Mitchell, Nicholas Mitchell, Austin Thomas, and Graham Thomas; nieces, Jenna Johnston, Miranda Kiger, Autumn Barber, and Ashlee Blankenship; 17 great-nephews and great-nieces; as well as many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sam Barber; mother and father-in-law, Fred and Gerry Thomas; his grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held on Monday, November 27th, 2023 at 3PM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held from 1PM-3PM on Monday at the funeral home.
