Joan Marie England, 70 of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, July 7th, 2021 at Fairfield Medical Center. She was born on October 14th, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio to the late George and Mary Bowes. Joan was the co-founder and owner of Nick’s Pizza, where she worked alongside her husband, children and grandchildren for many years. She was also a homemaker. She always enjoyed her time spent with her family. Joan was also a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.
Joan is survived by her husband of 45 years, Nicholas England; sons, Adam England, Noah (Jennifer) England; daughters, Sara (Danny) Sells, Leah (Rick) Davis, and Kara (Kenni) Hill; 24 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild, all of Lancaster; brothers, Mike, Joe, Dan, and Tom; sisters, Kathy and Karen; uncle, James Bowes; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ron, Jim, and Pat; and great-granddaughter, Kambri.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 14th, 2021 at 10:30AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Fr. James L. Colopy officiating. A Private Graveside service will be held at St. Mary Cemetery in Lancaster. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 13th, 2021 from 5PM-8PM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses and doctors in the ICU & PCU at Fairfield Medical Center for their loving care of Joan.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to the Patrick Bowes Memorial Scholarship Fund.
