James A. Lantz, age 92 of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014. James served in the U.S. Army, W.W. II as a B-17 pilot earning a Purple Heart. 1939 graduate of L.H.S., Dennison U. ‘43 & OSU Law, ‘47. James was an attorney & co-founded Lantz, Lantz & Lipp, served 4 terms as State Rep. & Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives. He was a member of many organizations, including F.U.M.C., Ohio Bar Asoc., Kiwanis, Order of Symposiarchs, American Legion, Elks.
He is survived by the love of his life, wife of 70 years, Eileen Weaver Lantz; daughter, Susan (Richard) Carr; Grandchildren, Leslie (Brandon) McBride, Jennifer Lantz, Andrea (Eric) Rothfeld, Jamie (Cory) Kilbarger, Jamison Lantz; Great-Grandchildren, Isabel, Zoe, Corban, Cryus, numerous nieces and nephews, special friends Keith Cross & Crystal Conrad.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. James M. & Edna Axline Lantz & sons James W. & Charles "Chuck" Lantz.
Memorial service will be Noon, Tuesday, June 24th at the First United Methodist Church, the family will be receiving visitors immediately following services at The Rising House, 131 N. High St.
