Dorothy M. Franklin, 90, of Lancaster, passed away Monday April 4, 2011 at The Ohio State University Medical Center. She was a member of Maple Street United Methodist Church, Olivedale Senior Citizens and American Legion Auxiliary. Dorothy worked for Alten’s Foundry, Battelle Memorial Institute and retired from Anchor Hocking Corp. She formed many lasting relationships during numerous activities such as bowling, bridge, choir and Maple Street Circle. She also enjoyed genealogy, crafts and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Paul Lynn of Scottsdale, AZ; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Mary Franklin of Lancaster; grandson, Aaron N.(Catherine) Franklin, great granddaughter, Gabrielle N. Franklin; brothers and sisters, Richard (Bo) Manson, Wendell (Virginia) Manson, Meriam Custer, Mary Short, Kate (Bud) Watkins and Betty (Gerald) Smith, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Jr., parents, Omer A. and Mary Alice (Carpenter) Manson; brother, Ted Manson, granddaughter, Allison N. Franklin.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home with Pastor Desiree Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Maple Street United Methodist Church.
