Donald W Bloom

Donald “Don” W. Bloom, 73, of Lancaster passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the Pickering House. Don was born in Lancaster, Ohio on January 31, 1951 to the late Matthew and Betty Bloom. He was a 1969 graduate of Lancaster High School and served in the United States Army. Don retired from Ohio Bell, where he worked as a lineman for 35 years. Donald later worked 16 years at Menards and enjoyed staying active and making friends. He and his wife Jan enjoyed traveling together and going to Southern Gospel concerts around the country. Don was also famously known for his homemade Chex mix, love of nature and, most importantly, his love for his grandchildren. Beloved husband for 46 years of Jan (nee Jadwin). Loving father of Jeff (Cerina) Bloom. Devoted grandfather of Matthew and Elise. Dearest brother of Susan and Jeff. Dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend too many. Don was preceded in death by his parents Matthew and Betty Bloom. Visitation for Don will be held Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at HALTEMAN-FETT AND DYER FUNERAL HOME. Funeral service will be held Monday, July 15, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Rose Cemetery, Lancaster.
