Betty Lou Murphy Bookman, 96, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024. Betty was born August 16, 1927 in Athens, Ohio, the daughter of the late Porter Murphy and Elizabeth Marie Lightfoot Murphy. She was a member of The First United Methodist Church in Lancaster.
Betty is survived by a son, William Ronald Bookman; a daughter, Beverly (Mark) Costello; 2 granddaughters, Hanna and Rosemary Costello; and 2 great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Braden Costello. She loved walking around the farm and planting flowers with Her Son. She enjoyed reading and
was loved by Her family and is greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald A. Bookman and parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home with Rev. Nikki Baker officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
