Verna Gail Griffin

Verna Gail Griffin was born August 30, 1956 to Pastor Harry and Euralean Currie in Palmdale CA. The second oldest of 4 daughter's. Gail attened, Valley View Elementary, Del Sur Middle School, and Quartz HIll High School. Gail was Baptized at the age of 12 years old at Growing Valley Baptist Chruch, under the leadership of the late Pastor Walter E. Forte Sr. She was active in the youth choir unitl her father, Pastor Harry Currie was called to be the Assistant Pastor of First Community Church in Littlerock. She was active here until she married Elder James Oggs Sr. To this union four children were born Devonna (Angel) Sherrie Crowfield (David), Sajatha MoniqueLee(Musa Abdusshakur), Alisha Dawn Williams, and James Charles Oggs Jr. (JC). Gail traveld with her husband Charles to several countries, he was in the USAF. When this union ended, Gail married Moses Griffin, until his passing in August of 2010. Gail helped with the caring of her parents unitl she became ill and was unable to care for them anymore. She labored in pain till God called her home on June 12, 2018. Gail was preceded in death by her oldest sister Elena Walker, Moses Griffin, and grandparents and some of her Aunts and Uncles and cousions. She leaves to cherish her life, her father Pastor Harry Currie and her mother Euralean Currie, two sisters Wanda Faye Currie-Johnson (Bishop Michael Johnson), and Arleen Currie-Morse, 4 children, 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, two aunts,one Uncle and one step Uncle and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends and loved ones. Gail sung a song with her husband Charles Oggs, "Going Up Yonder" she truly made it up Yonder to be with the Lord.
