Marciea Joy Ball

"The Ones that Love Us Never Really Leave Us" Sirius Black - Harry Potter

Marciea passed unexpectedly of pulmonary embolism on September 10th 2020 at her home in Huntington Beach, California.

Marciea was born in Lancaster, CA, the only child of long-time residents Wendy and Lester Ball. Marciea graduated from Lancaster High, Antelope Valley College and Vanguard University. She pitched travel ball, high school and collegiate ball, and pitched her Big League softball team to the final game at the Softball World Series in 2000. She pursed her Master's degree and teaching credential at Loyola Marymount , graduation in 2015.

Marciea was passionate about reading and teaching, and chaired the English Department at St. Anthony's in Long Beach for 11 years, in addition to coaching softball, serving as Activates Director and advising for the school yearbook. She moved to Corona del Mar High, and continued teaching AP English and Journalism. In her words, "I am a lover of the written word and have a passion for teaching; I find inspiration and insight in the words of great writers and thinkers..."

Marciea influenced so many students, families and friends during her brief time with us. She is survived by her parents, Wendy and Lester, and fiancé Michael Stinnette, and his children, Madison and Collin (Chicago, IL). Local and out of area family members include:

A celebration of Marciea's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 25th at JetHawks Stadium, Lancaster, CA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the following:
