Dear Richard and Barbara (and family): Mike and I wanted to let you know that we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers as you navigate this extremely sad and difficult time.  I hope in time the sharp breath-taking pain you feel right now will be replaced with only memories of the love and precious moments you shared with your son.  I know that words are not adequate to describe the depth of your loss and pain, but I hope that you know that you are not alone in your grief and that there are those who care and will continue to pray for you.

Deepest sympathy to the McLemore family. Growing up with Joey was truely an honor. He will be remembered as a great childhood friend whom I learned and shared a great deal with over those many years. Joey will be remembered and his memory cherished by all he interacted with in his lifetime.

My deepest condolences to Richard, Barbara,Chris,Jim, Katie and Grandma. I know the loss of Joe is overwhelming and the pain is endless. I remember Joe as a happy ,energetic kid, always out to help.  John and I want to thank you all for making us a part of the family.Throughout the years, you have shared Joe and the rest the family with us. We have been blessed, to see  all your children grow and mature into fine adults. Since,Joe was your first born, he showed very early  in life what his responsibilities to his brothers and sister were, not to mention his great love for his parents, siblings and grandma. Joe reminded me of a mother bear, very watchful and protective, ready to pounce on anyone,that would hurt his siblings on his watch. I remember his ability, as a young teenager at Xmas,to transform the McLemore's front living room into a winter wonderland. It would take him a week ,but he would hook up all the various xmas village scenes with every trimming, icing and gadgetry to make it come alive before your very eyes. This was Joe, no job was too tough for him to complete, and the satisfaction and complements he received from everyerone that saw his completed work ,made his eyes sparkle with delight, followed by this big smile that he had done a job, well done.Joe took this same dedication and drive into his adult life. Joe was that intellectual spirit, always up for a spirited discussion which was well thought out,the product of sound thinking and strong sense of right.
I would always spend my first few minutes of each visit in a great lively discussion with a young man who seemed destined to be a great in any way he chose.
His independence was apparent from my first meeting with him. The only youngster I ever met with such a strong sense of being able to pick his own path in life. Which he did. 
Joe was surrounded by a wonderful loving family with parents who gave all to ensure Joe and his siblings were well cared for, felt loved, and were given the chance to become good faithful adults. He was the oldest and he took his responsibilities seriously. He could be counted on and was an important part of the world in which he lived. 
I will miss Joe, and find it hard to comprehend him not being in our world, yet in a better one.
God Bless you Joe, the Lord will greet you with open arms and love, as your parents always have. I am confident you will find peace.
