Debra Lillian Graham was born November 11, 1950 in New Orleans, LA to Virgin and Willie Miles. She was the 3rd of 5 children. Her father preceded her in death.
Debra accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at The Saint Marks 4th Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA. She attended Alfred Lawless High School. After high school, she relocated to Southern California. In California, she became a member of Greater Ephesian Baptist Church, where she served as an usher under Pastor Payne. Her first job was with Jackie Robinson Park & Recreation. Later, she attended training at Lockheed Martin Aerospace and worked as an Aircraft Mechanic. She also worked providing maintenance service in new housing developments.
Debra loved to cook and made the BEST ham and yams! She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She found great pleasure in traveling to Las Vegas. She was a very private person with a contagious smile and a big heart. She met and married Therman Graham who preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish in memory two children, one son Carnel of Reno, NV and one daughter Kahlema of Palmdale, CA (6) grandchildren - Carniece and Callissa (China) of Las Vegas, NV and Destiny, Kahlyna, Marcus, Kahron and (1) great granddaughter, Zaniyah of Palmdale, CA. She also leaves her mother, Virgin Scates, (3) sisters, Louvenia (James), Vanessa (James) and Meshell (1) brother, Louis (Betty) all of Palmdale, CA and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
We extend a special recognition to her daughter Kahlema, who worked tirelessly to comfort her mother until the end.
