On Mother's Day, May 10, 2015, God called a beautiful mother home. Ta'Shawn Lashay Broussard, born December 16, 1991 in Galveston, Texas is the daughter of Carroll Allen, Edward Broussard and Donald Sanford. She was educated in the public schools of La Marque and Texas City, graduating from Texas City High School in 2010. Ta'Shawn had a zest for life and independence. She looked up to her uncles, Kenneth and Darrell, and often called on them for help and advise. Her favorite sport was playing softball. She truly loved her children and family, never hesitating to ruse to their defense. Ta'Shawn accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Greater Barbour's Chapel Baptist Church in Texas City by the late Pastor H. A. Ratcliff, Jr. She was a member of the Youth Choir and Youth Praise Dancers Ministry. Ta'Shawn is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lee and Jeweline Allen; and great-grandmother, Ruthie Allen.
