William McPhail

William "Bill" Mc Phail, age 96, of Toms River, New Jersey passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022 joining his beloved wife, Marie. Bill was born and raised in Kearny, N.J. and graduated from Kearny school system. Bill was employed at the ITT Nutley/ Clifton complex for 43 Years, retiring in 1987 as manager of the Design/Drafting dept. Bill and his sweetheart, Marie Frotton, married in 1949 and resided in North Arlington, N.J. before moving to Cedar Grove, N.J. where he served on the township Council for 12 years including two terms as Mayor. Bill was also a Past Master of North Arlington Lodge No. 271 F & A.M. and a member of Adoniram Lodge No. 80 in Lyndhurst, N.J.

After retiring from ITT he and Marie moved to Normandy Shores, N.J. and then to the Lake Ridge Community in Toms River, N.J.

Bill lost his loving wife Marie to cancer in 2011 after 62 years of marriage. Bill is survived by his children, Susan Wolfman, William J. McPhail and his wife Anna Marie, Andrew S. McPhail and his wife Elaine, seven grandchildren, Lauren Brozowski (Eddie), Kaitlin Wolfman (Brittany), Jillian Purcell (Evan), Ian, Alexa, Emily and Andrew McPhail and great grandsons, Devon Woelki and Brayden Brozowski.

Bill was predeceased by his mother, father, six sisters and two brothers.

A visitation for Bill will be held on Monday, December 19th, 2022 from 4-8pm at D'Elia Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 20th, 2022 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery located at 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ 07031
