Born in Queens, she resided there until moving to Jackson for a short time and finally settled in Lakewood in 1954.
Prior to retiring 20 years ago, she was a cook at Georgian Court University, where she worked for 30 years. Rose was a phenomenal cook and was known for her Christmas Eve dinners. She also loved to crochet, creating blankets for her family members. She loved animals, and most recently gave a home to Cheddar and Cookie, her cats. Rose was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Mary of the Lake RC Church in Lakewood. There, she was a member of the Catholic Daughters and volunteered at Holy Family School.
Surviving is her loving husband of 63 years, Anthony; 4 children: Anthony, Jerry and his wife Debbie, Susan Doyle and her husband Jim, and Richard; 6 grandchildren: Trevor & Anthony Colazzo, Ashley Walker, and Jamie, James, & MaryKate Doyle; a great-grandson, Declan Walker; a sister, Sr. Mary Pezzino; a brother, Joe Pezzino; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and two dear friends, Cheryl and Helen.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8PM at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 12PM at St. Mary of the Lake RC Church, Lakewood. Interment will follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rose's name to the Padre Pio Foundation.
