Pearl Mininsohn, 90, of Howell Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024, in the comfort of her own home. She was raised in Saratoga Springs, NY and later resided in Lakewood, NJ before moving to Howell Township 39 years ago. Always well-versed in world events, Pearl was a talented artist, skilled cook, nature lover, and avid traveler.
Pearl was a self-made and well-respected small business owner as well. Flowers by Mininsohn was based in Lakewood, NJ, and was open for 40 years. During that time, Pearl’s pageantry brought beauty, comfort, warmth, and love to all those she served, extending well beyond Ocean County, NJ.
Pearl was predeceased by her parents, Carl and Helen Turetz, her sister, Jeanette Turetz, her husband, Walter Mininsohn, her son, Eric Mininsohn, and her daughter, Helena Mininsohn. Pearl is survived by her son’s partner, Jeanette Baubles, who was her loving caretaker for several years. She is also survived by her grandson, Daniel Mininsohn, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews of Alabama, New Jersey, and Utah, and Cutter, her housecat. Pearl was deeply loved by her many cherished friends and neighbors who stood by her throughout her life.
A funeral gathering will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at the D’Elia Funeral Home on Route 70 and Vermont Avenue in Lakewood, NJ. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., and interment will follow in Beth Olam Memorial Park on Route 70 in Lakewood, NJ. Contributions may be made in Pearl’s memory to the American Cancer Society and/or Autism Speaks.
