Born in Yonkers, NY, he resided in Cedar Grove before settling in Toms River 22 years ago.
A graduate of NYU, he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in accounting. Prior to retiring, he was an executive for Revlon.
Morty was a congregant of Temple Sholom of West Essex for 31 years, where was also a past President. He honorably served in the US Navy on the USS Antietam during the Korean War.
While living in the Lakeridge adult community of Toms River, he was past president of the Shalom Club, a member of the governmental committee, and enjoyed all of the activities the community had to offer.
Surviving is his loving wife of 65 years, Ruth; a son, Stuart and his wife Vicki; a daughter, Marci; 2 grandchildren: Rachel & Jason; a sister, Fay Steiner and her husband Gil; 2 nieces, 3 great nephews, 1 great niece, and 1 great-great niece.
