Gloria "Glo" Vogel

Wall Township - Gloria M. Vogel, 86, of Wall Township, New Jersey was called home on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 with family by her side.

Gloria was born on November 2, 1935 in Lakewood, New Jersey to the late Kingsley H. & Agnes (Saunders) Van Pelt. She graduated from Lakewood High School in 1954. It was during her school years that Gloria met her future husband, Ronald P. Vogel. Gloria and Ronald were married for 63 wonderful years. In their high school yearbooks, Gloria wrote that she has “a special interest in basketball and Ronnie”. Ronald called her “his favorite subject”. They had a long and loving relationship and we are comforted knowing that they are together again in eternal life.

Gloria worked for several years at JCP&L after graduating. She also spent many years teaching Sunday School at Christ United Methodist Church.

Gloria was a devoted and caring mother and grandmother who loved spending time with family and friends. She was liked by everyone who knew her. In her younger years, she enjoyed taking her sons to their cabin in the Poconos and spending days at the beach. She loved holidays and cooking for her family. Her specialties were cupcakes with homemade icing and her famous lasagne. Gloria enjoyed card games, going to the gym and golfing. She was a charter member at Eagle Oaks Country Club for many years, and a member of the Colts Neck Golf Club. She also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City where she would sit for hours playing her favorite 3-quarter slot machine.

In addition to her parents, Gloria was predeceased by her two brothers, James & Kingsley Van Pelt. She is survived by her oldest & dear son, Jeffrey R. Vogel of Long Branch, NJ, her devoted son, Glenn K. Vogel of Manasquan, NJ and his girlfriend Maureen Bailey. Gloria had one granddaughter, Allison Mae Vogel of Farmingdale, NJ who she loved and adored and was so proud of. Gloria also leaves behind her faithful dog and companion, Lucy.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 11:00-2:00 on Sunday, October 23rd at D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ. Burial will be private.
