After working and living with her family in the Philadelphia, PA area for several years, Dorothy relocated to Lakehurst, NJ and finally coming to Lakewood, NJ. She worked part time in Retail and Sales positions, and was a full time devoted homemaker for her family. She was an active member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Lakehurst for many years, and she enjoyed participating in the various church activities. Dorothy Mae also loved shopping.
Wife of the late, Arthur Smith, Jr., mother of the late, Howard Smith; Dorothy is survived by her son Roger Smith (Manju); and her daughter Carolyn Smith-Stokes (Troy); her sister Alice Fagan and her brother-in-law Thomas Mayo and family; her her grandchildren, David Smith, Lashonda Smith, Michelle Smith, Adele Smith, Brenda Smith, Natoshi Williams, and Quashon Smith, Trayvon Stokes, and Ivory Stokes; and her great-grandchildren, Gloriana Smith and Ivory Parker; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many beloved dear friends.
Private service arrangements are by the D'Elia Funeral Home, and Dorothy Mae Smith was laid to rest with her late husband in the BG William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
