Carol Granger, 58, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2023 with her beloved daughters and dog, Dobby by her side. Carol leaves behind 2 daughters Kayla and Kim, Kim's fiance Jeff Gonnello and many life long friends who have become family. She also leaves behind her loving Mother in law and husband's extended family. Carol was welcomed into heaven by her loving husband of 30 years, Gary Granger who passed in September of 2022, and her two parents Helen and Angelo Palermo.
Carol was born in Newark on December 13, 1964 and lived there until 1991 when she moved down the shore to start her life with her husband. Carol was a Social Worker for DYFS for 13 years where she helped many children find safe and loving homes. She was a stay at home mom to her two daughters when they were young and rejoined the workforce as a technical recruiter for the last 10 years.
Carol was a devoted mother, wife and friend. She was the life of the party and always enjoyed hosting, especially her elf ugly sweater party around Christmas. At any party, you could find Carol on the dance floor or even on a chair dancing. Carol made friends everywhere she went and knew how to make the people in her life feel special and loved. She loved being a mother and was very involved with her kids' activities, whether it was stepping up to be PTA President or class mom. Carol loved nothing more than to be surrounded by those that she loved. When she wasn't with her friends or her daughters, Carol loved to walk on the boardwalk in Lavallette with her beloved dog, Dobby and watch the sunset. Lifelong Springsteen fan, she loved the ocean and the Jersey Shore just as much as he did.
Carol fought a hard battle with Melanoma, which she was diagnosed with back in 2017. Thanks to her wonderful doctors at Robert Wood Johnson, Carol was able to live a full life despite her stage 4 diagnosis. She never took those years for granted and lived her life to the fullest, whether that was the many vacations she took with her family or spending time with the people she loved, Carol left a lasting impression on the people who were lucky to know her.
