On May 11, 2023, Nancy K. Ford (Goodson) passed away in Englewood, CO, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Nancy will be missed by her husband, Rod Ford; three daughters: Jennifer Thomas (Todd Griffin), Christi Smithey (David), and Julie Thomas (Tony Munoz); step-son Max Ford; and brother Charlie Goodson (Sarah). She has five grandchildren: Elizabeth Principato (Matt Belcher), Nick Principato (Legend Loud), Thomas Smithey, Phoebe Smithey and Jaxon Ford and one great grandson, Aiden Belcher.
Nancy was born in Ohio and adopted by her loving parents Max and Margaret Goodson. Her family moved to Wellesley, MA where she spent most of her formative years. Her parents instilled a deep love of different cultures and travel that shaped much of the rest of her life. Her family moved to Madison, WI where Nancy completed her senior year in high school. She then attended the University of Madison as a Fine Arts major.
Nancy drew on her artistic talents to bring creativity and imagination to everything she did. Her enterprising spirit led her to varied careers as owner of a modeling agency, multi-media consultant, news reporter and video producer. She was particularly proud of the work she did with various police departments, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and the Veterans History Project (cataloged at the US Library of Congress).
Nancy will be remembered for her creativity, wonderful sense of humor and ability to turn everyone into a friend. She shared her love of travel, space, culture and learning other people’s life stories with us all. This lives on through her work and her children.
A celebration of life for Nancy will be held Monday, June 26, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Advantage Runyan-Stevenson, 6425 West Alameda Ave, Lakewood, CO 80226, followed by a reception from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
