Kathleen Diaz

Kathleen “Kathy” Diaz was a true Proverbs 31 woman, a wife of noble character. She loved to work with her hands, either on her sewing machine (v19), in her garden (v16), or cooking meals for her family(v15). She used her craft making skills over the years to earn extra money for the household (v24). She made many creations on her sewing machine (v19): hair-bows, aprons, dollies, plastic bag organizers, curtains, wreaths…the list goes on (v17)!

Kathy was met at the gate of Heaven by her parents, James and Delores Maestas; her brothers, Levi and Max Maestas; her sister, Ida Maestas; and her granddaughter, Maribel Flower Gonzales.

She leaves behind her husband of 45 years, Juan Manuel Diaz; her children: Juan Manuel II (Christina), Luis Alberto (Brenna), Angelita Yolanda Santos (Miguel), and Graciela Kathleen Mendoza (Juan), 12 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Kathy also leaves siblings Jimmy Maestas, Lloyd Maestas, Jake Maestas, Lucy Vigil, and Yvonne Trujillo.

“Her children arise and call her blessed;

her husband also, and he praises her:

Many women do noble things,

but you surpass them all.”

Proverbs 31:28-29

A visitation and evening service for Kathleen will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 beginning at 5PM PM at Lakewood New Life Center, 5250 West 1st Ave, Lakewood, CO 80226, followed by an evening service at 7PM. A funeral service will occur on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM also at Lakewood New Life Centery. Kathleen will be laid to rest in Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery following her funeral services, with the committal at 3PM. A reception will follow.
