Juanita Estella Burke, age 93, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022. Juanita was born April 14, 1929 in Monte Vista, Colorado to Cecelia and Albert Sanchez.
Juana was feisty, ornery, put herself together well, and had the most amazing sense of humor. She is remembered fondly by those who survive her including, her daughter Cecilia, her grandson Andy, her granddaughters Amanda and Angela; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband Robert Burke; her father Albert Sanchez and her mother Cecelia Sanchez and her step-son Michael.
A rosary and funeral Mass will be held for Juanita on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Shrine of St. Anne's. The Rosary will begin at 10AM with a Mass to follow at 10:30AM. Juanita will be laid to rest at at Mt. Olivet Cemetery following her Mass.
Juanita loved animals of all kinds, but especially flamingos. Those who wish to send a gift in Juanita's memory are encouraged to do so to the Denver Zoo. A donation can be specified for the New Flamingo Enclosure.
