My aunt was the sweetest kindest person, I loved how she said my name. (Inet) but I loved it. I'll miss her laugh and her silly ways and her beautiful yard. I love you auntie. Forever in my heart.

Jessie Torres…
To me Jessie was like another Mother.  In fact, she was the mother I never had.  I met Jessie when I was only 18-yrs old, when I had first come to Denver.  &, she took me under her wing, when I didn’t know anyone here.

I learned a lot of things from Jess, as I would call her.  She taught me how to make enpanaditas with beef tongue, walnuts & apple butter.  She taught me how to make homemade jam from the plums we picked from her sister Isabel’s plum trees.  She taught me how to get my whites, white.  &, she taught me that when you are gonna buy something that you really like, get it in every color it comes in!  LOL!😁

She also taught me, what “Chopos” are.  &, those are slippers.  LOL!😁.  &, she taught me what an “Ojete” & a “Rosquin” are.  &, that is your kiester!  LOL!😁

I had never seen Jessie struggle as much as I did with the loss of her beloved daughter Paula.  As some would know as “Shovel”.  I grieved along with Jessie, because I dearly loved Paula, too.  As Paula would always call me “her sister from another Mother “.

I met Jessie through her husband Roger.    A funny thing I remember about Roger, was that when I was about to give birth to my son, he drove me to the hospital, zooming!😁.   And, when we pulled up to the ER entrance, he hollared out to the workers that were out there…”Hey man, I got a Chick right here that’s ready to pop!”   So, can we get some help!  LOL!😁

I will always hold dear to my heart, my friendship & relationship with this family!
As, Jessie & Roger always called me “Jita”. 
&, they always treated me as a part of their family.

I LOVE Jessie as my life long friend.  We had may times of laughing & crying with one another.  &. she has a special place on my family wall of pictures.  

But, the thing that I always admired & respected the most about Jessie, was the immense & unconditional Love she had for ALL her 5 children.

&, she will ALWAYS have a very special place in my heart & in my memories!!!
