Donna Gayle (Clark) Phipps, 77, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 10, 2022. On a chilly day in Monroe, MI, Donna was born January 12, 1945 to Bill and Janice Clark. As a child, Donna was active in 4H and Bluebirds. She attended a one-room schoolhouse for her early school years, and Jefferson Consolidated School up to her eighth grade year. Her family moved to Wheat Ridge, CO, where she graduated from Wheat Ridge High School. She was head Cheerleader and has continued her involvement with her class throughout the remainder of her life. She attended Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, CO, and graduated from Parks Business College.
Over the years Donna worked as an Executive Assistant for several companies including Samsonite Corporation, Mercy Housing, and several engineering and architectural firms.
Donna was an Elder at her church and was active in many church projects that reached out to the community. She served as an election judge and she helped organize her high school graduating class reunions for many years. In addition, she organized and directed many important family events. She had a great fascination for Ireland and finally achieved her life-long goal of visiting that pretty country in 2019. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching movies with her sister on weekends.
Donna had a big heart and cared deeply for many people.
Donna is survived by her loving family: her brother, Gary Clark, MD (wife, Kim Hourston); her sister, Karen Hagaman; her niece, Tami Patten (husband, Jerry); her grandnephew, Treyden; and her grandniece, Maren (husband, Jessey Lechman), her special friends; and her dog, Maisy. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Janice Clark.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church, Lakewood, CO, at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Donna’s name to Wounded Warriors; Susan G. Komen Foundation; or Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church, Lakewood, CO.
