My father has join my mother at Fort Logan National Cemetery 4400 W. Kenyon Ave.  Albert and Bernice can be found in section 43 grave 32.  
He lived a Great Life.  His love was our mother and his four children. He loved his entire family and extended that love to his friends, he touched so many lives. 
I learned to honor my father and mother by watching him honor his. He was a strong independent person. 
I will always be grateful for the time we spent together. I enjoyed playing golf with him the most.  I’d laughed all day, nobody was safe from his quick wit.  Every Christmas season started with him playing Santa Claus for the hospital I work at.  He loved it...and so did I. He was a Bronco season ticket holder.  My earliest memories are of him and mother going to games and us getting pizza from The Edgewater Inn after.  
He made certain all of us had whatever opportunities we wanted.  Music, sports, education whatever.  He took us ice skating, skiing, fishing, camping/hiking and on vacations every year. 
He told me to “never forget who I was” followed by “and never let that get in your way.” He taught me to laugh at myself and with others when appropriate. He really enjoyed making people smile. 
I was blessed to be his son.  He was a wonderful man and will be missed but not forgot.  The man I respected above all other men has left.  We will reunite again and I look forward to that joyous time with him and my Mother.

My Mother and I had the privilege of knowing Albert thru Doris Burns.  He was always so cheerful and friendly and polite.  He visited Millie frequently at the Teller St. Apts. and she always enjoyed seeing him.  He also visited her at Sandalwood Manor and brought a smile to her face.  We miss him and offer our sympathy to his family.

How do you say goodbye to someone who has been there your whole life? Good times. Bad times. Always there.  I guess you don’t. You simply say until we meet again.  
How do you say thank you to someone who without question was always there to pick up the pieces?  A few kicks in the butt to set you straight and a lot of talk afterwards, you never stopped being there.  I guess you just say until we meet again.  
To my best friend and Father who showed up at every major event in my life, when I graduated from boot camp in Florida, there was Mom and Dad.  He drove there to be with me.  I moved to Tennessee to go to school to be a jet mechanic, there’s him and Mom, who drove out to be with me on the same day Elvis died, took them to Graceland.  I was stationed at NAS, Miramar VF-121 also known as Top Gun.  There’s Dad and Mom, I let my Dad climb all over the fighter jets.  He had so much fun.  I called my Mom and Dad on a Saturday and told them I was getting married in an hour, they showed up all dressed up and ready to go.  
My Dad made real men out of us and one strong woman, Mona Jean. He taught us to stand up for what you believe, don’t back down, tell people what’s on your mind, don’t B.S. people so everything would be crystal clear; that has gone a long way in life.  He taught us about all sports, how to work on cars, handyman around the house, basically he taught us how to save a dollar.  He took us vacationing everywhere, a lot of great times. My Mom and Dad were the best ever.  To a lot of people and kids my Dad was Santa.  To me, he was simply Dad, Super hero every day of his life.  I could go on forever, what he meant to our family and all the friends he made along his journey. He was there for people who were willing to help himself.  Dad you will be remembered for so many things.  You and Mom were the best thing any kid could ask for.  I love you and miss you.  Until we meet again,

Lifetime Broncos fan, the best Santa in town, the best sense of humor, dinners at the imperial, Christmas breakfast and giving the great grand kids a hard time. I will miss his bright smile and warm laughter the most and I am so thankful we were able to celebrate his birthday with a fun drive by parade where he waved from the porch with a bright smile. With grandpa Albert around there was never a dull moment and you were never quite sure what he was going to say next but you could guarantee it would be funny.  I will be forever grateful for the beautiful memories and time we shared and for the wonderful son you raised that is such a great father to me and the best papa to my kids. Until we meet again.....

Where do I begin? I have so many wonderful memories that have shaped me. The most important thing that Grandpa Albert taught me, through example, is how important family is.  Waking up on Christmas morning and heading over for a hearty breakfast and family time was always incredibly special. One Christmas I had been practicing Spanish and Grandpa Al asked me to give a “presentation” of sorts. I don’t even remember what it was about, but I do remember the way he smiled and teased me about my horrible pronunciation. I remember Bronco games, gatherings at the Knights of Columbus, holidays, and most special to me now is having a front row seat to knowing my own Santa Claus. Even to this day my girls believe that Grandpa Albert is one of Santa’s helpers which includes special magical powers. 😊 The other thing that gets my heart is as I grew, went to college and met my husband, he welcomed him into the family with his way of welcoming….. which was to find a “thing” to tease him about. My husband Ryan will always be know as “Bryan” because Albert said it was so. Over the last 23 years, “Bryan” has laughed along side Grandpa Albert, because after 23 years he had to know that his real name was Ryan….at least I hope he knew 😊 Ill miss his smile and his voice as those resonate so much with me. Most of all,  I’ll miss having my own Santa Claus! May Mr. Claus re-unite with his Mrs. Claus somewhere where magic is ever so present. First I wlould like to send my Condolences and Prayers to all my cousins. I remember my Uncle Albert and Aunt Mona gave me and my sister (Rena ) our first doll house when 5 or 6 yrs old. We would play for hours. and he always called us Jervonnie and Jerrena (yvonne & rena) I will always remember his Sense of Humor. Mona Jean has the same one. Uncle Albert I am sorry I didn't keep in touch like I should have. Rest In Peace Uncle 

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Al on a few occasions on the golf course and off with George. Always pleasant and quick to put a smile on others faces. I know George and I know Al raised him well with the learnings that he still preaches.  Wishing strength to the strong Tafoya family.
My condolences for the loss. 

I didn't have the honor of meeting Albert but all I ever heard was great stories of this man. I do have the honor of knowing his son George and all I can say is that Albert would be proud to know his son George is a great man that I truly admire. George and his family have been there for me and my family when we were in bad times. For that I'm internally grateful. Although Albert is no longer here, he left behind a great example on how a man should be. Just know that we are with you and your family.  We also pray that God gives you the strength to get through this vary difficult time. 

I knew Al from the Wheat Ridge Rec Center (and as a wonderful Santa). He was always so cheerful at 5 am and he always waved at us from the pool when we were on the track upstairs. He was a blessing to know and will be dearly missed. 

I had only met Mr. Tafoya a few times on the golf course...he was genuinely such a nice man. It was very apparent that he and his son had a very close relationship.

Even though I didn’t know him that well I can see the kind of man he must have been because I know his son George and he obviously did a great job as a father.

Having lost my father also, I truly am sorry for your families loss. Have peace in knowing he is in heaven and with his creator.

I will always miss you Gramps.  I wouldnt be the person I am today without your help.  We were just talking about you teaching me how to drive a stick shift up hill in the snow on Teller.  I will always remember how you included us in all the holiday get togethers, your stupid dance at the bronco games, you always made the games alot of fun.  Making me go with you to fix everyones broken pipes, electrical outlets or whatever.  We had too many memories to list.  You are going to be missed alot.

I’ll never forget the first time I met you; Chris says “clear your calendar, you’re going to meet my entire family at the Hospital that my Gramps is Santa at” I thought to myself, well nothing intimidating about that, but I wonder if i have to sit on his lap.  Turns out, I would have been rude had I not. I instantly thought you were an amazing man with many stories to tell. 

I was right, you were such an amazing man with an infectious smile, a kind heart and a work ethic above most. Oh and the stories, I still don’t know if some of them are true, mostly true, or just a story to get a good reaction but that’s the best part and something that I will never forget.  

You were an amazing Grandpa to my wonderful husband, I hope you know the tremendous impact you had on him.  “Little Al” also admired you and I will continue to share stories about his Grampo.  

I’m  going to watch Big Fish in your honor.

I’m going to miss so much about my Gramps.  When I was little he used to take me everywhere with him.  Him and Grandma took me to Glenwood Springs every year.  I road tripped with them to Idaho for a family reunion. We went fishing and golfing and swimming all the time.  And when there wasn’t anything to do, we would go just walk around downtown and take pictures or go on a long drive.  He made the best time out of what was around him.  After dinners he’d love to take the long way home to see if anyone was “cruising” in their old cars.  I’ll never forget the impact he had on everyone around him. He could make the room light up with his smile. He talked to everyone like they were an old buddy, he talked to old buddies like they were family and he held family in the highest regard.  He taught us all to respect our elders.  We constantly visited relatives and helped out where we could.  I was always amazed that he could walk into any  a room a stranger and  leave as a friend.  He just had that impact on people around him.  I love that sometimes his stories were so outrageous you weren’t sure if it really happened.  Soon after our son was born, we changed his middle name to Albert to honor his Great Grampo and he called him “Lil’ Al” every day after.  I love the memories they made together.  Age never slowed him down from playing with him. He always made time to joke with my wife, give our son Cash a hard time about his name and talk Lil’ Al into giving him one last kiss before he left.   I’ll miss our breakfasts together. I won’t miss Chuck Wagon, even though I know how much he loved it “It’s quick and it’s hot!”.  I’m Thankful for everything you taught us.  I know the value of a hard day’s work. I know how important family is.  I know that he loved us because he showed us constantly.  Memories are the only thing we really leave behind and he created them with everyone he met.  In that sense, he will live on with us forever.  I love ya Gramps.

Albert was a great golfer.  He was an even greater leader.  there were many occasions I could remember when you taught us how to be men.   He taught us to never let anybody walk even if we had to pile them on our golf cart.  he never left anybody behind.  I love Albert just like he’s my father.  Albert was a true American served our country fought for truth justice and the American way every day. I will miss him for the rest of my life.

To the best Father in Law a girl could have, my heart has lost another piece to heaven.  You were the best Father, Grampo, and partner in grime.  I will never forget the joy in your eyes playing Santa at Christmas.  It was as if Christmas magic was alive in you or at least that is what all the kids and grandkids believed.  I will miss our Christmas breakfast as well, it was always delicious, and if you brought someone new good luck you never knew what name you would be called by Albert,  but it was always in good fun.  Sometimes these names stuck as my son in law Ryan has always been known as  Bryan! It is a blessing to know you are now reunited with your true love Bernice.  I hope your catching up on all the changes in the family as there have been many new additions and loss.  Love you forever in my heart!!

Albert, as sometimes I heard you called “Sonny Boy” or “Turtle”, was one of my favorite cousins. He always had a certain smile and twinkle in his eyes that showed his love of life. 
He did make a wonderful Santa Claus because of that special twinkle!  
It’s sad  that you left your loved ones, but they have the special memories you left them and you left me. Rest In Peace my wonderful cousin.   Finally home with Bernice and my Auntie Dora and my father, Lloyd Medina.
