Zoe was a daughter, a sister to three brothers, a niece, cousin and best friend.
Zoe was a beautiful soul. Her name meant "God-filled life," or simply "life," for short, which was the best way to describe her. She had a zest for life from an early age, and was highly active. She wanted to feel the wind on her face, the air when she jumped, and the sand on her feet. She wanted to go higher and further and pushed herself to all limits. She never wasted a single day, if it was in her will.
Zoe was an adventurer. From playing in the woods or climbing trees, she was always looking for the next thing to conquer. She would carve spears or construct forts, and at home- she would build fantasy worlds or elaborate games with swords or characters to play with. She was an artist and designer, in both the physical and digital realm.
From designing mansions and groups on roblox, to painting the starry skies with soft furry creatures she adored, she was always using her mind and hands to create what she imagined.
She was actively involved in various sports like football and soccer. She was highly competitive but there was nothing more fun than playing these games with friends and her family. Zoe was extremely skilled with body control and a gifted kinesthetic learner. Always pushing her body to master the next stunt, but mainly looking to push the envelope of boundaries as her spirit was one that was wild and free.
Zoe was also a collector. She loved Pokemon cards, Funko pops, super cars, cute fidgets and stuffies, and was always looking for the next spark of inspiration or challenge.
She was a contrarian, always pushing and prodding. She had her own voice, and it was original. She was a thinker, and an action taker. She tested. She didn't want people to tell her how to live, she wanted to forge her own path. She was ambitious enough to try new ways, but she was wise enough to hear God's voice so she wouldn't go astray. In fact, in many ways she was developing this voice for the sake of justice, so it seemed.
Zoe was brave, strong and courageous. At home, she would sometimes struggle privately with GI issues, but over her life these struggles became less and less and she never wanted them to define her. She didn't want to be treated differently, for people to feel sorry for her or to think she wasn't capable.
In fact, she would find ways to master what would seem challenging to others, and even prove how she COULD do incredible things in spite of what she sometimes faced. And if that was somehow not possible, she would invent new extraordinary ways to do things to show herself and others what was possible.
One thing for sure is there was nothing stopping Zoe. She was very encouraged that her health issues seemed to be going away. She was getting stronger, and the joy of her strength kept us all so very happy. We thought these issues were something of the past, like a distant memory, but it seems God had a bigger plan.
Zoe was an advocate for living in a healthy way, and one day perhaps she could help others with similar issues. She would frequently research ingredients and healing remedies because she found it intriguing and helpful.
Zoe was a fiery soul, but a compassionate one. Her heart wanted to give to the homeless, and for those that were struggling- she would think of ways she could help them. She would frequently donate to those who were less fortunate and knew that God had a calling and hand on her life.
As a big sister, she would race around the house and try to stir up little brothers' souls to tell them to not be afraid, try new things, and to "go for it" because time is short and that we are here right now. She would whisper silly sounds and soliloquies, and repeat the funny moves that made us all laugh loudly, and fill time with the next fun adventure.
Now Zoe is on her next big adventure, one that she was ready to take on like any other, one that would allow her to surpass all Earthly limits. We love Zoe deeply, and will miss her with all of our hearts, but now she is fully free and truly living, and we have faith that we will see her again soon.
A visitation for Zoe will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home (411 Ranch Rd 620 S. Lakeway, TX 78734). A celebration of Zoe's life will follow at 1 PM after the visitation.
