On Monday, August 26, 2024 we lost Kenneth R. Ahlburg, the most special husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend that we could ever hope for, at the age of 81. He lived a purposeful life of
loving his family, helping his neighbors, traveling, golfing and enjoying every minute of it. He will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ken was born August 5, 1943 in Los Angeles, California to Ken and Marjorie (Crawford) Ahlburg. He served in the Air Force and graduated from Pepperdine University and the University of Georgia with a Master’s degree. Ken was a sales executive and officer in several beverage companies and retired from Superior Chair Company in 2008.
Ken is lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Guest Dewalt; sons, Andrew Ralston Ahlburg (Jessica), Tyler Blair Ahlburg (Katy Sauer) and Paul Richard Freiwald; daughters Elisabeth Ahlburg Lyon (Robert Howard) and Leigh Freiwald; two granddaughters Sadie Moy Lyon and Blair Marie Ahlburg and one grandson Isaiah Townes; one sister, Dottie Ahlburg Johnson; one brother-in-law, Bruce Wylell Bryant (Marian); nieces, nephews, cousins and several golfing buddies. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 1st from 4-6 p.m. at The Grove, 3001 Ranch Road 620 South, Austin, TX 78738. Memorial contributions may be gifted to an organization Ken greatly respected, The Salvation Army of Austin, 4700 Manor Road, Austin, TX 78723.
