Elsie M. Nelson

Elsie Marie Nelson, age 85, of Lakeway, Texas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, died November 16, 2019. Elsie was born in Ashland, Wisconsin, but was a Minnesota resident for 72 years, living in Duluth and the Saint Paul area before moving to Texas in 2017. Elsie was preceded in death by parents, August and Toini Koski, brothers, Stanley and Erland Koski, and sisters, Esther O’Connor and Elaine Smith. She is survived by her husband, Floyd Nelson, sons, Steven and Gary Nelson, daughters, Sharon (Scott) Glaesemann and Deborah (Tom) Tulig, grandchildren, Amy (Glaesemann) Hazelton, Benjamin Glaesemann, Heidi (Glaesemann) White, David Tulig, Karen Tulig, Nicole Tulig, Scott Nelson, Joseph Nelson, Michael Nelson, Ricky Nelson, and Wade Nelson, and great grandchildren Cody and Hanna White, brother, Ronald Koski, and many nieces and nephews.

For the past five months, Park Manor Bee Cave Nursing Home became Elsie’s home and world. Their staff treated her like it was her home. Our family will be forever grateful for the support and loving care they gave her even during her most difficult times. Our heartfelt thanks to them. For a brief time at the end, Elsie was also cared for by staff from New Century Hospice. Our heartfelt thanks to them as well for the special comfort and compassionate care they briefly provided.

A memorial service remembering Elsie will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at 11:00 AM at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 411 Ranch Road 620 South, Lakeway, Texas. A private burial will be at a later date in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Grace Lutheran Church, 1730 Old Hudson Road,
