Ruth Natalie Sells peacefully passed away in her home in Lake Worth, Florida at the age of 99 on January 25, 2022 after a long and adventurous life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Arthur Sells, son Roger Sells, and brother Robert Shpirak. As the matriarch of the family, she will be deeply missed by all. Ruth is survived by her son Doug (Patty), daughter Pam Schwarz (David), Grandchildren David Schwarz (Debbie), Stacey Schwarz, Christopher Sells (Christie), and Great-granddaughter Danielle Schwarz, and niece Barbara Zanewski (Gary).
Ruth along with her husband Art and brother Bob and his wife Lillian owned and operated the Patio Coffee Shop for over 35 years. It was a mainstay in Lake Worth, especially on Sundays after church and for Sunday family dinners.
She was a lifelong volunteer in her community. Throughout the years, Ruth's many volunteer endeavors encompassed being a docent at the Flagler Museum, a pink lady at JFK Hospital, and as an Ambassador at PBI. Ruth served on the church counsel at First Congregational Church of Lake Worth where she was a member for over 30 years and enthusiastically serving weekly dinners to the homeless at the church.
Ruth's love of travel took her to many far-off places including Western and Eastern Europe, North and South America, Africa, Scandinavia, Australia, and New Zealand. She shared her favorite places with her children and grandchildren with a summer trip each year.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, only a small family gathering will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Lake Worth, 1415 N. "k" Street, Lake Worth, Fl 33460, to be designated for the Homeless Shower/Laundry, or the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation, 5400 Glenridge Dr. N.E. #422471, Atlanta, Ga 30342.
