Born on February 20, 1937 in Sullivan, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Everett and Amy Katherine (Coonce) Badders.
John and Marilyn moved from Indiana to Florida in 1970 where she raised their children. After her children were grown she decided to go back to work and was the owner of the Mid County Electric Company in West Palm Beach where she was the office manager.
In 1992 she began working for the Palm Beach County School District as an office manager and retired in 2006.
John was an avid bluegrass festival goer and Marilyn would join him on his excursions throughout Florida.
She enjoyed her crosswords and was an avid car enthusiast. She had a 1987 Buick Regal T and was able to hold conversations about cars with her boys.
She is survived by two sons Scott E. and John D. Willey; four sisters, Carolyn McDowell, Betty Miller, Juanita Sweeny, Evelyn Redman; granddaughter Christina M. Prosser; great grandson Carson E. Prosser; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering on Friday August 18 from 5 to 6pm at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth. Memorial services will follow at 6pm at the funeral home.
