Jack A. Carpenter of Lantana, FL went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 9, 2018. He was born on January 23,1932 in Muncie, Indiana. Jack lived a life filled with love and dedication to God, his family, and his community in Lantana. Jack married the love of his life, Clara, and they enjoyed 62 beautiful years together. He was also the caring father of four children: Edwin Carpenter, Jerry Carpenter, Patty Fields and Julie Carpenter-May. He is survived by his youngest brother, Tom Carpenter, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by his brother Wayne Carpenter and parents, Edwin and Lucille Carpenter. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 5-8pm at Dorsey-E Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday, March 15 11:00am at Maranatha Bible Church, 900 Broadway, Lantana. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The American Diabetes Association or The Shriners' Children's Hospital. Jack's life accomplishments were many. If you knew him, he was a hard-worker, a leader and a volunteer for improving his community. He served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force during the Korean War. Afterwards, Jack made a career with Pratt Whitney Aircraft for 25 years. He was also one of the first Volunteer Firemen for the Town of Lantana and volunteered for 25 years. Jack served as President of the Chamber of Commerce for Lantana; City Councilman for the City of Lantana; Founder of the Lantana Historical Society and more recently Sergeant for Lantana's Citizens on Patrol. Jack unselfishly served many other organizations, too numerous to mention and he enjoyed every moment of them. A few of his proudest accomplishments were: Service on The SR-71 Blackbird Engine Program as well as many other Defense Engine Programs; The Masonic District Deputy Grand Master; The Juvenile Justice Program and Participating in the Honor Flight Southeast FL.
