Beverly Bridgers Bennis, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 6, 2022, one month prior to her 98th birthday. She was born to William English Bridgers and Winifred Arnold Bridgers on June 3, 1924, in Louisville KY. The family later moved to Stowe, OH, where Beverly graduated from Stowe High School. After graduation, Beverly joined the US Navy, serving during WWII in New Orleans, LA. When the war was over, Beverly became a Stewardess with Eastern Air Transport, later known as Eastern Air Lines. While there, she met and married John J. Bennis, losing her job in the process.
Beverly and John moved to Garden City, Long Island to raise a family of four girls: Jacquelyn, Barbara, Patricia, and Virginia. Beverly remained in the travel industry, working as a tour escort and tour operator. She also supported many charities through the organization, Silverliners International.
Beverly is predeceased by husband John, daughter Jacquelyn Favia (Michael) and brother Lloyd (Margaret). Survivors are daughters, Barbara Chase, Patricia McLean, and Virginia Bennis, grandchildren Dane Favia, Dawn Favia, Timothy Chase, Mary McLean Stull, and Margaret McLean Linsalato. Great-Grandchildren are Brendon Mareson (Alissa), Jessica Edwards, Nicole Favia, Lilian Linsalato, Benjamin Linsalato and Tyler Stull. She will be missed by all.
Private graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, May 13th at the South Florida National Cemetery. Donations may be made to USO at https://www.uso.org/donate/memorial-donation.
