It is with great sadness that the family of Arthur Dick announces his passing after a brief illness on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at the age of 94. Arthur was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York along with his two siblings Harold and Dorothy (both predeceased). Arthur met the love of his life, Bernadette (McDonald), truly a match made in heaven, they were soul mates. They married and relocated to Woodhaven, Queens where they raised their family. Arthur was employed and retired from British Airways at J.F.K. International Airport where he enjoyed working for many years. British Airways enabled them to enjoy life and travel the world. Upon Arthur’s retirement, he relocated to sunny West Palm Beach, Florida until his passing, 35 years later. Back in the day, Arthur proudly served 4 years in the Army National Guard and while living in Florida, Arthur was instrumental in starting the Palm Beach County Citizen on Patrol (COP) program in his community. Arthur enjoyed volunteering with the COP program for 25 years.
Arthur will be lovingly and devotedly remembered by Bernadette, his best friend and wife of 73 years. Arthur will be lovingly and forever remembered by his sons and their spouses, Richard (Linda), William (Robbin) and Dennis (predeceased). Arthur, “Pop-Pop”, will also be forever remembered by his six grandchildren and their spouses, Stephanie (Bryan), Vanessa (Jay), Kimberly (Michael), Brendan, Christian (Kasey) and Tyler. “Pop-Pop” will also be affectionately remembered by his nine great grandchildren, Lucas, Lana, Andrew, Emily, Matthew, Ryan, Reese, Dylan, Ella. Arthur will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at St. William the Abbot RC Church, 2000 Jackson Ave, Seaford, NY 11783. A celebration of life reception to follow mass, please join us.
