I was lucky to bond with Emily over the last few years as we both were bridesmaids in Zach & Meraya Devon’s wedding. We went on a trip together to Nashville, and all of us girls knew we would be safe with Emily and Ashley. She kept the energy going and made sure to help care for me when I wasn’t feeling good. And of course, she even made us all a spa kit including her homemade gifts, something I will cherish.

Oh, my "Emilyd".... how I will miss you.... You were like a 3rd kid in our family....Love you so much!  See you later....  <3

I was Blessed to be Emily’s Principal at City High School in Grand Rapids.  We had a special bond, because we also attended church together.
My heart is broken over her sudden loss, and that of 2 beautiful daughters.
I have peace knowing that Emily loved Jesus.  I know that doesn’t take away the pain and loss, but to her family and friends, I pray that God gives you peace.
Kyle, I never met you, but I know you must be special.  I’ll continue in prayer for you.
Joane, please know I’m also praying for you.  You were an awesome mom, and I’m sure an amazing Grandma.

My condolences deeply goes out to Kyle and Kylie. There’s not enough words in the universe to comfort them or make all of this go away but by the grace of god I know that Emily and the girls are still right there next to them.

Amalia, my sunshine girl. Always so happy to try new things and be right there next to Kylie.  My heart aches for these three passings. I never got to meet Shiloh but Emily sent me pictures and she was beautiful.  They all were.

Emily has always been a bright light in my corner. She cared for me when I felt alone and she helped me with anything I came to her with. We always bonded over crafting and experimenting on new things. She was the mother i never had.

The Root Family were our neighbors in Spencer, NC.  They all were such blessings to our lives 🥰
Emily was a wonderful neighbor, always smiling and laughing.  Working in her garden and sharing her flowers.  Amalia was only one when we first met , becoming like one of our granddaughters, as did Kylie.  She would run into our arms as we walked in the neighborhood.
Shiloh was born after the family moved back to Michigan.  We loved watching her grow into a precious babe in pictures that Emily shared on FB.  
Kyle was an awesome Dad, as I am sure he continues to be with Kylie.
Our hearts are  broken, but we trust that God has plans we don’t understand.  
We pray for His peace for everyone 🙏❤️🙏

When me, my dad, Emily, Kyle, Amalia, and Kylie went to the zoo. I remember holding Amelia's hand while walking through the zoo looking at animals and other things like birds and such. Will miss them.
