He was a native of Grand Chenier, LA and had lived in Hayes for 34 years. He worked in the oilfield for 32 years. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, riding his lawnmower and cutting grass for others. He was a avid LSU and Saints football fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Lorena Guidry; two sons, Frank Anthony Guidry and Keith Gerrard Guidry; and one daughter, Roxanne Guidry.
Survivors include his wife, Lou Anna Guidry; three brothers, Melvin Guidry of Lake Charles, Leroy Guidry and wife, Sue of Hayes and Elton Guidry, Jr. and wife Dorothy of Woodlawn; one sister, Ann Miller and husband, Frank Jr.; nephew, Ronnie Theriot and wife, Shirley and many other nieces and nephews; thirteen grandchildren; and good friends, Clyde Guillogte of Bell City and Johnny Johnson of Westlake.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m., Thursday August 15, in Hixson Funeral Home Chapel of Lake Charles. Father Emanuel Tanu will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. till 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. and resume Thursday from 8 a.m. Burial will be in St. Eugene Cemetery in Grand Chenier.
