Teresa Jo Yeats, born April 30, 1963 in Thibodaux, La, died July 18, 2021 at home in peaceful surroundings with those who loved her. She was born with special needs and overcame many medical obstacles during her lifetime. She beat the odds past life expectancy with some of these conditions and survived. She was gifted with a strong faith and positive attitude, always saying, "I'm gonna be alright." Everyone who met her fell in love with her, she was always forgiving right away and made friends where ever she went, touching all those who came in contact with her. She was independent, possessed a loving heart, loved Elvis' music and could sing most of his songs along with the oldies, she loved her jewelry with a ring on every finger and lots of bling!
Thank you to ALL the caregivers, agencies, doctors, nurses, and surgeons who cared for her over the years but especially to Dr. Meyers and his team at MD Anderson (2010), Dr. Autin of Lafayette General (2021), her cardiologist Dr. Dobbs of Lafayette, lovers of life no matter what the odds are and of course, Heart of Hospice.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three sisters, Delane Sarver and husband Gordon Sarver of Lake Charles, Pamela Ek and husband Ulf Ek of Sweden, Patricia Loyd and husband Cliff Loyd of Georgia; brother, Kevin Yeats and wife Julie Yeats of Hahnville; nieces and nephews, Lauren Coleman, J. Douglas Detiveaux, Kelli Yeats, Clint Loyd, Justin Loyd, Jenny Ek, William Ek, and Rickard Ek.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry L. Yeats and Katherine Marcombe Mayet.
She will be sadly missed by all.
Thank you Lord for allowing us to have her this long, and I know she will be in the greatest hands of all with you. You can rest now Teresa, you are with our heavenly father and we Thank You Lord and we praise your mighty name.
