He was born in York, Pennsylvania and lived in Iowa, Louisiana. He joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Lake Charles, La. at Chenault. During that time, he met his wife at a local movie theater and they were married July 5, 1952.
Mr. Hubley worked in food service and was a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. He worked in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Tx. area for 45 years. After his retirement, he moved back to Iowa, La. Mr. Hubley was a member of St. Francis of Assisi in Grapevine, Tx. where he served as head usher for over 20 years. The parishioners will fondly remember his unique ability to provide a space for all who attended the masses and services at the church.
Mr. Hubley’s favorite hobby was making Ukrainian art Eggs. If you received one of his special artistic Ukrainian Eggs as a gift then you knew he thought you were very special.
Mr. Hubley is survived by his loving wife Juanita Bouquet Hubley of Iowa, La., his three sons Robert E. Hubley III of Caldwell, Tx., Richard E. Hubley of Ft. Worth, Tx., Ronald E. Hubley of Springtown, Tx., one daughter Mary Sue Kent of Houston, Tx., one sister Joan Hubley of York, Penn., nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and their family, and 5 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday July 21, 2016 at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Iowa, Louisiana at 2pm. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
