He was a devoted and loving husband of 59 years. Richard was in the Navy during the Korean Conflict where he received a Good Conduct Service Medal. He was a fantastic mechanic who was considered a Mr. Fix it. His door was always open and the coffee was on for all family and friends. One of his favorite pass times was playing slots and eating snow crabs.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents; his wife, Mamie Alberta Miller, one brother; Bruce W. Miller and one sister; Ruby Irene Barnett.
He is survived by his four sons; Richard Miller and Inzsia of Grand Prairie, TX, George William Miller and Debbie Jean of Lake Charles, La, Charles Thomas Miller of Lake Charles, La, and Franklin Bruce Miller of Lake Charles, La., one daughter; Debbie Bellard and Vernon of Lake Charles, La., one brother Thomas (Tommy) Miller and Marlene of Houston, TX, one sister Lolly Pinkston and Pinky of Ft. Worth, TX. Richard also left behind thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and many friends and his cherished dog lil bit.
Memorial services will be under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. The family will be receiving friends Thursday December 4th at 3:00pm with a memorial service beginning at 4:00pm at the funeral home.
