Sweetlake – Milton “Playmate” Theriot, 79, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at his residence.
He was born in Creole and lived in Cameron until Hurricane Rita, then he moved to Sweetlake. He worked for Baker Hughes INTEQ where he retired after thirty-nine years as a warehouse foreman. He was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea and the Knights of Columbus of Cameron. He started playing the accordion at age 44 and had his own band the “Playmate Playboys.” After he retired he played in the band “Medicare Playboys.”
He served the community of Cameron, Creole, Grand Chenier and Grand Lake as their appliance handyman.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Theriot of Sweetlake; sons, Albert Theriot and wife Margaret of Sweetlake; Donald Theriot and wife Angela of Hillsboro, OR; daughters, Deborah Theriot of Lafayette; Gale Hunt of Sweetlake; grandchildfren, Jonathan Theriot, Chad Theriot, John Richard, Stacy Hunt, Thomas Hunt, Lance Theriot, Shaun Theriot, Caleb Theriot, Justin Theriot, Scott Theriot and great grandchildren, Talen, Madyson, Nataleigh, Russell and Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Virgie Bonsall Theriot and sister, Winola Bonsall.
His service will be 11am, Friday, September 6, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Msgr. Greig will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 2pm until 9pm with a rosary at 6pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Burial will be at Sweetlake-Grandlake Cemetery.
