Marvin Carl Thompson, Jr, 90, of Lake Charles, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Garden View Assisted Living in New Iberia. He was born to his late parents, Marvin Sr. and Ellen Thompson on August 26, 1930 in Kinder, LA. Marvin was a proud veteran with the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War Conflict. He was an avid Golf and Tennis player and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He retired after 36 years with South Central Bell Telephone Company. He was a Beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He never lost his great sense of humor and was loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Patricia Thompson; two daughters, Carla Thompson-Washburn, Jane Eustis and husband George, both of Lake Charles; two sisters, Bobbie Lofaso of Lake Charles, Jean Callahan of Huntsville, Alabama; four grandchildren, Trigg White and wife Sara, Travis White and wife Katy, Courtney LeBlanc and husband Josh, Patrick Eustis and wife Elizabeth; eleven great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Marvin is preceded in death by two sisters, Ione Christ and Fontel Laughlin.
A Graveside Service will be held at Highland Memory Gardens on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at 2:00pm, with Rev. Chan Willis of First Presbyterian Church officiating.
