Marguerite was born in Jennings, LA, on August 27, 1919 to Nathan and Emma Robbins. She married Harold H. Born on July 27, 1946 in Lake Arthur, LA, he preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two daughters, Rose Theriot and Jane Born, and one sister, Mary Upton.
Those left to cherish her memory are her six children, Julia (Peter) LeBlanc, Mary (Jim) Barnette, Trudy Born, Paul Born, Rita (Glenn) Theriot, and Martha (Tom) Powell; one brother, Warren Robbins; one sister, Anna (Cliff) Crowe; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Marguerite loved sewing, bird watching, vegetable gardening, and tending to her plants. She also loved music, singing in the church choir and playing the organ. She traveled throughout the U.S. including Alaska while camping with her husband. She was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was a true believer in God, Family and Education.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10am Monday, February 10, at the Cathedral. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Visitation is from 5-8pm Sunday, February 9 with a rosary at 6:30pm and will resume 8am until service time at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park.
