Lindsey James "Doodle" Fontenot, 87, peacefully passed away of natural causes at his home, on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was a native of New Iberia, La. and a longtime resident of Lake Charles, La. and Houma, La.
Lindsey had a life-long love of hunting and fishing from an early age. Special thanks to his caregivers during the last months of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Aline Miller Fontenot; children, Denise Pellegrin, Danette Talbot (Dudley "Boo" Talbot Jr.), Lindsey Michael Fontenot (Ava Popay), Carl Fontenot (Denise Marks); grandchildren, Ryan Talbot, Jeffrey Talbot, Katie P. Dupre, Megan P. Troxler, Karl Fontenot, Lauren F. Verrett, Taylor Fontenot; and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, Lindsey and Marguerite (Saintes) Fontenot; in-laws, Eddie and Anna Babineaux Miller; grandson, Lindsey Robert Fontenot; and great grandson, Drake A. Dupre.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Hixson Funeral Home, Lake Charles, La. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the Liturgy of the Word, led by Father Jace Eskind, at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Prien Memorial Park in Lake Charles, La.
